Chong Suk Lee

Hello, my name is Chong Suk Lee. I'm a Korean-American artist having grown up in Los Angeles, California. I fell in love with cartoon animation at an early age and pursued it as my career, having attended Cal Arts where I graduated in 1997.

I've had over 30 years experience dedicated to the art and craft of animation, more recently as a Director and Senior Story Artist at several major studios such as Disney, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks  and Sony. Along with Supervising Directing at independent and bigger studios, like 7ate9 Entertainment / Netflix and Cartoon Network.  The types of projects I've enjoyed working on most are Action / Comedies, Cartoon Shorts, and Prime-Time Animation. 

 

My principal focus has been in the field of Television Animation, but also ventured into working on Full-Length Feature projects at Sony Animation. It's sparked my interest in new possibilities of the animation industry, such as short-form projects, digital media, consumer products, and theme park entertainment. 

 

In addition to my career accomplishments, I also enjoy teaching and mentoring new talent. I've taught story and storyboarding classes at Cal Arts for 7 years, where it has helped me when operating in a studio setting supervising freshman talent on a collaborative effort. Not only do I find it extremely rewarding to work with a team in a field that I love, but also to help develop  and nurture the talents of the next generation.
